Two new reports -- Outcomes by District and Outcomes by School -- are available online from the Ohio Board of Regents.
Outcomes measures include Ohios college participation, college preparatory course-taking and public college remedial course enrollment.
Improvements to this year's reports include:
* A five-year trend for the outcomes measures, with a five-year aggregation, which is especially helpful for schools in measuring trends;
* More detail on the enrollment destinations of college freshmen, indicating the percentage that attend four-year or two-year colleges in Ohio;
* Changes in the reporting on high school courses taken to indicate the percentage of college freshmen who took the Ohio Core, specified in recent legislation; and
* Additional information about remedial course enrollment rates, showing how the rates vary by the type of high school curriculum taken: less than minimum core; minimum core; and Ohio Core. Minimum core is defined as four English courses, and three courses each in math, social studies and science. Ohio Core includes four years of English, four years of math (must include Algebra II), three years of social studies (must include ½ year of American History and ½ year of American Government), and three years of science (must include one year of biology).
